Varsity and JV field hockey rule the Gateway classic

Congratulations to the varsity field hockey team, who went 3-0-1 to capture the Pool D title in the Gateway Field Hockey Classic. The team scored 13 goals in 4 games and shut out all their opponents. The team played aggressively and with passion and made the Bearcats proud.
Lucy Poindexter led the Bearcats in scoring with 5 goals and 3 assists. Mary Mason Spears notched 2 goals and 3 assists, and Emily Harrison had 2 goals and 1 assist. Megan Read shut out all opponents.

The JV team also competed in the classic, participating in Pool K against varsity competition. The varsity competition was no threat to the JV squad, who went 3-0, winning the Pool K title. The JV Bearcats scored a total of eight goals in the three games and, like the varsity Bearcats, shut out all of their opponents.

Congratulations to coach Amy Elliot and staff and the field hockey Bearcats for representing KCD so well outside of the Bluegrass!
