JV girls lacrosse captures SHA Braveheart title

For the seventh consecutive season, the JV lacrosse Bearcats emerged victorious in Sacred Heart’s home tournament. It was a great showing by a very young team, who have shown remarkable improvement over the course of the season after dropping two of their first three games. With the 6-3 victory in the tournament finale, the team moved to 8-3-1 on the season.
On the way to the championship, the team avenged an earlier loss to Assumption and then downed Ballard and Eastern. The championship game was a dominant performance by the Bearcats, who used its stifling zone defense to thwart offensive attacks by the Valkyries while getting some well-timed goals from Dylan Breier, Alex Fogarty, Riya Kodali, and Sophie Ritschel.

Despite a roster featuring 12 8th graders, 8 9th graders, and only 1 10th grader, this squad continues to fight hard and show it’s the best in town. Congrats to the team and coaches Caroline Downer and Caroline Flowers!
