Interdisciplinary Euro Project showcases collaboration and creativity
Seventh grade students have been hard at work over the last several weeks preparing for their Euro project presentations. Students worked together as members of a marketing team charged with researching and developing competitive bids for countries seeking to host the 2020 Summer Olympics. Each group researched a European country and developed a presentation pitching their country to a committee looking for venues for the 2020 summer games.
This interdisciplinary project required students to work across many disciplines, including English, math, geography, and art. The project is also a showcase for the 21st century skills of communication, collaboration, and creativity that are essential parts of our curriculum.
Hugh Kuffner enjoyed developing relationships within his group. He said what he enjoyed the most was “getting to know the people in my group and working together as a team.”
The top teams from each group presented to the entire Middle School. Students and teachers then selected the best presentations in several categories. Congratulations to Norway (best overall), Austria (best video), and Switzerland (best mascot design).
