For a few hours on Monday, Americans across the country came together to witness the celestial phenomenon of a solar eclipse. Here at KCD, the Bearcat community shared this amazing experience by pausing our daily routine to watch together as the moon eclipsed nearly 96% of the sun’s surface.
This was a great opportunity to come together, and we were happy that many lower school parents were able to join us to watch the eclipse with their children.
Teachers (of course) planned a variety of eclipse lessons and activities, such as learning eclipse vocabulary, reading eclipse articles in Spanish, participating in an eclipse-themed Chromebook scavenger hunt, studying eclipses’ role in history, and writing about their eclipse experience. We hope that everyone enjoyed this memorable day!
