KCD Upper School students participated in KUNA (the Kentucky United Nations Assembly) from March 12-14 at the Galt House.
KUNA is a 3-day, experiential-learning conference in which students participate directly in simulated international diplomacy. KUNA offers students the opportunity to experience the richness of cultures from around the world, develop empathy, and hone their critical thinking skills while engaging with a wide variety of perspectives and global issues.
This year, KCD won a Premier Delegation award, along with many individual student awards:
Anya Sharma ’24 was awarded Outstanding Ambassador from KCD
Roderick Purdy ’23 and Sam Kanaly ’23 were both voted Outstanding Speakers
Tala Saad ’23 was chosen for the ICJ Showcase contentious case and she won her case
Roderick, Anya, and Sireen Khader ’23 (representing Russia) won Outstanding Security Council Team
And KCD swept the presiding officer spots for next year! Anya was elected next year’s President of the Security Council and Minhal Nazeer ’24 was elected next year’s Deputy Secretary General
