Boys Golf team breaks school records

KCD Boys Golf had a record breaking match at the Trinity Invitational on Saturday, August 27.
Ryan Johnson ’23 and Gage Mizuguchi ’24 both scored a low of 70, tying a school record for an 18-hole tournament!

Together, the Bearcats also smashed the team score record with a 292 (previous record was 305). All five KCD golfers shot in the 70s (Xavier Huestis ’25 scored a 75, Andrew Mainka ’23 scored a 77, Grayson Hayden ’28 scored a 78).

“I couldn’t be more proud of our Bearcat golfers,” stated Head Coach Tim Rice. “The work and resilience of these young men was on full display as we finished tied 5th. Ahead of us were the best golf teams in Kentucky with several top programs in our rear view.”

The team will head to the All-A State Tournament at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond, Kentucky on September 11. Good luck, Bearcats!
