Jonathan Mooney speaks to faculty on learning differences

Jonathan Mooney—author, entrepreneur, and activist—spoke to KCD faculty about learning differences at their In-Service day on Friday, September 24.
Mooney reminded faculty of the power they hold as change agents and the impact they can have on all different types of learners. With that power, educators have the unique responsibility to elevate students and help them to see their individual strengths—often before those students are even aware of them.

Mooney encouraged faculty to look for opportunities to change the learning environment—not the student—and focus on teaching "the way [the student] learns," rather than holding all learners to a fictionalized "normal" standard.
