Mr. Huestis announces building, renovation plans during State of the School

During the State of the School address on August 21, KCD Head of School Peter Huestis announced exciting plans to construct a new STEAM Academic Center on campus and to renovate many of our existing facilities. According to Mr. Huestis, one of the goals of the Create Together campaign is to ensure that the quality of our facilities matches the quality of our faculty and programming.

The first phase of the Create Together campaign will kick off this spring, when we will break ground on a new STEAM Academic Center adjacent to the KCD Theater. That summer will also see a renovation of the Lower School, including a new front entrance and office space.

Additional phases of the Create Together campaign include renovations to interior athletic facilities such as locker rooms and offices as well as a renovation of the Middle School to create larger and more flexible classrooms.

The Create Together campaign grew out of strategic planning work that began several years ago and has been built on the great work of the KCD Development Office, administration, and board of trustees. Mr. Huestis also announced that the campaign has been supported by several historic leadership gifts.

We are very excited about these improvements to our facilities, which will create new opportunities for students in all three divisions. We will have much more information to share in the coming months, so please keep an eye out for updates in
FYI.
