Security Officer

KCD has an immediate opening for this position, which reports to the Director of Security and is responsible for providing campus security.

Essential Functions of the Job
  • Maintain and monitor security cameras and access controls
  • Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement agencies/ first responders, in case of an incident
  • Work directly with Security Director to support various activities on campus such as parking plans, door access, carpool activity, and various other events to ensure the safety of the KCD community
  • Patrol campus, parking lots, playgrounds, sports fields, and interior spaces to monitor doors, demonstrate a presence, and respond to any identified needs
  • Attend all necessary training and meetings          .
Qualifications
  • Law enforcement or security experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently use computer technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment in a professional manner.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule (nights, days, and weekends)
  • Ability to follow instructions and enforce policy in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Work outside in hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time
  • Work in a wide variety of environments, as found in all areas of the school
  • Move around campus quickly, as needed
This is a full year, part time, non-exempt position, working a flexible schedule that is normally 24–32 hours per week.
