Head of school search consultants to visit KCD on March 21

As we announced in February, the Board of Trustees has retained Triangle Associates to lead the search for our next head of school. On March 21, Triangle’s Judy Schechtman and Rich Odell will visit KCD to meet with groups of parents, students, administrators, teachers, and alumni. These meetings will allow these stakeholders to voice their thoughts about the next head of school and will help Judy and Rich learn more about KCD and our school culture.

“Rich Odell and I feel privileged to be working with KCD to help find its next head of school,” Judy Schechtman said. “We already know what an outstanding school you are, but we are excited about coming on campus next week to meet many of you and to learn firsthand more about what makes you special. This brief visit will give us a better understanding of the type of candidate who is the best match for KCD.”

Following Judy and Rich’s visit, there will be several other opportunities for the KCD community to share their thoughts and feedback on the search:

  • After Spring Break, parents, students, administrators, teachers, and alumni will be invited to participate in an online culture audit. This process will allow all members of the community to anonymously share their experience of the present school culture as well as their thoughts about an ideal culture moving forward. Judy and Rich will use this feedback to help screen candidates in order to find the best fit for KCD.
  • In October, KCD will host three finalists over three consecutive days. There will be opportunities for parents and alumni to meet each of the three finalists during these visits.
  • KCD will name a new head of school in November, 2018.
