KCD names Head of School search firm & committee co-chairs

I’m writing today to share some information about our progress in the search for KCD’s next Head of School.

Over the last six weeks, the Board of Trustees received proposals from six educational search firms, held interviews with the firms, and completed reference checks. After careful consideration, I am pleased to announce that we have selected Triangle Associates to lead our Head of School search. Triangle Associates has conducted a number of similar searches and is known for its research for the National Association of Independent Schools about Head of School selection. After identifying qualified candidates, Triangle uses a progressive approach to assessing and understanding the current culture and future aspirations of our school and then determining which candidate’s leadership style and strength is the best fit for KCD.

 

I am also pleased to announce that KCD parents and board members Elizabeth Poindexter and John Handmaker will be co-chairing our Search Committee. The Search Committee, with representation from all of our constituent groups, will be finalized in the next few weeks. I’m grateful to John and Elizabeth for taking on this important task. I know that they are committed to running an inclusive and transparent search that will involve input from parents, faculty, students, and alumni.

 

Our goal is to name the next Head of School no later than November, 2018, for a July 1, 2019, start date. Until that time, Anne Glosky will continue to serve as Interim Head of School.
