Kentucky Country Day School offers prestigious scholarships that help reduce tuition costs for gifted, talented and motivated students in grades 5-12. All of our scholarships are based on Kentucky Country Day School’s motto, “citizen, scholar, steward.” The awarding of scholarships is another way to ensure that qualified applicants and their families have the opportunity to offset costs to attend our award winning school.

The 2024-25 scholarship application form will open October 24, 2023 at this link.
  • All scholarship applicants must complete the Early Admission application process no later than December 21, 2023.
  • All applicants must complete and submit a one page essay which is included in the scholarship application. Deadline is January 11, 2024.
  • All applicants must take Kentucky Country Day School’s admission testing on Saturday, January 20, 2024 to be considered for KCD scholarships.
  • Applicants will be considered for all appropriate scholarship opportunities and the Scholarship Committee will determine each applicant's best fit.

  • Merit Scholars Program

    KCD Merit Scholarships are prestigious awards that help reduce tuition costs for gifted, talented and motivated students entering grades 6 and 9. These scholarships are awarded based solely on merit and are independent of financial need. Academic achievement, extracurricular participation, and strong citizenship are factors in the selection process.
  • Malone Scholars Program

    Malone family Scholarships are available for gifted/talented students entering grades 7-12 who also have demonstrated financial need. The Scholarship covers up to the full cost of expressed need determined by FACTS Management Company. The Scholarship also covers some related expenses for each year that the Malone Scholar is enrolled at KCD, meets academic expectations, demonstrates good citizenship and character, and continues to qualify for need-based aid. Kentucky Country Day School is the only school in Kentucky to be recognized as a Malone partner school by the Malone Family Foundation which endowed a $2 million fund at KCD to provide scholarships to academically gifted and talented students.
  • Lowry Watkins Jr. Scholarship

    The Lowry Watkins Jr. Scholarship is based on merit and financial need; this scholarship will fund 100% of demonstrated need. The Lowry Watkins Scholar will maintain the scholarship for the duration of the students successful studies and financial aid qualifications at KCD.
  • Kircik Family Scholarship

    The Kircik Family Scholarship is for any students enrolled in grades 5-12. Selection will be based on merit and need, with a focus on those students who have displayed a particular interest and talent in the sciences.
  • Kentucky Country Day School Blue and Gold Scholarship

    The KCD Blue and Gold Scholarship is meant for students with demonstrated need, academic curiosity and commitment to community. The scholarship will fund 100% of determined need, as well as some related expenses for each year that the student is enrolled at KCD.
  • Lee and Connie Meriwether Endowed Scholarship

    The Lee and Connie Meriwether Endowed Scholarship Program is for students entering grade 9. This scholarship is awarded to any student with strong academic skills, good character, a demonstrated love for and interest in math and sciences and a commitment to a life of KCD and its community. This commitment may be shown in various ways; participation in athletics, the arts, student government, or just being a helpful participant. Selection will be based on merit and financial need. This scholarship will offset the difference between the expressed financial need determined by FACTS Management Company, and allocated funds by the KCD financial aid program.
