Citizen, Scholar, Steward
We believe that Kentucky Country Day offers the finest academic program in the region. The backbone of that program is a rigorous and cohesive college prep curriculum that balances tradition with innovation. Our students are expected to master a great deal of academic content. They are also challenged to develop the skills, work habits, and character traits that are essential for success in college and beyond.

Our curriculum emphasizes collaborative and project-based learning, because we believe that these are the best methods to develop essential 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.

Because of our small class sizes (about 16 students on average), our teachers get to know and respond to students as individuals, allowing them to focus on differentiation in the classroom. Our program is challenging, but students also learn that KCD is a safe place to take risks and stretch their boundaries.

Schoolwide Honor Code

Our academic program emphasizes honesty and integrity. When students write ‘I Pledge’ at the top of their tests and papers, it’s shorthand for the academic accountability that’s expected from every member of our community.
