Fourth graders get creative with Legos

Fourth grade students recently completed their Lego WeDo projects in Rosanne Zabloudil’s Maker Lab. The students worked in teams to create three separate projects: a kicker, a goalie, and a crowd. These projects included three different types of programming challenges, which students overcame to create a soccer-style simulation event.
First, students programmed a kicker leg to kick at the paper ball. Another program used a sensor to record goals as balls moved through the goalposts. Finally, students recorded a unique cheer, triggered by movement, to play as the crowd moved up and down in the stands. The students enjoyed working together and seeing the final product some to life!
