Golf team victories lead strong All A performances for KCD fall teams

It’s been a great fall for KCD teams competing their All A regional tournaments. This season, our volleyball, boys and girls soccer, and boys and girls golf teams made it to the championship game of their tournament, and both golf teams won their regional titles! This is an exceptional accomplishment for KCD athletics!
The boys golf team defeated Collegiate and Whitfield in their regional final match. The team turned in a score of 157, and Michael McAdams and Ryan Johnson led with scores of 35 and 39 respectively. Coach Tim Rice spoke highly of senior Michael McAdams’ performance at regionals. “Michael McAdams has been solid all season. The regional tournament was no different. Michael led all scores and encouraged his teammates coming in to finish strong in a decisive victory for the Bearcats.” The boys golf team will compete in the All A state tournament at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond, Kentucky, on September 8.

The girls golf team won their All A Regional tournament on August 30 at Quail Chase. The top performer for the Bearcats was senior Lauren Rawson. Ellie Vine, Erin Gillis, Sophie Ritschel, and Caroline Moeller also competed. These young women will be competing in the All A State Tournament on September 8 at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Kentucky. Coach Davis Brown was very pleased with his team’s play. “We have a very inexperienced team this year, so getting to All A State is a pleasant surprise,” he said. “Lauren has provided good senior leadership, and the rest of the team has really been working hard to improve. I’m really happy that they’re able to see some payoff from their efforts.”
