The KCD varsity girls soccer team is off to a hot 3-0 start this season. The Bearcats have put in 18 goals in those three games and only given up 4 goals. A major victory for the team was their 6-1 victory over Louisville Collegiate school in the All “A” Classic regional title game. That win puts them in the sectional round next week, with a trip to the state tournament on the line.
Head coach Kristen Grogan is encouraged by her team’s play so far. “I'm really excited about this year's team. The girls have been working so hard individually and collectively since late June, and the combination of experience in our juniors and seniors and youthful exuberance from the underclassmen gives us great chemistry and makes us very competitive. We are off to a fantastic start, and I couldn’t be prouder.”
Our varsity boys soccer team is also off to a great start as well with a 2-1 record. The boys soccer Bearcats were runners-up in the All “A” Classic and have posted big wins against Eastern and Trinity, holding both teams scoreless. Great job, Bearcats!
