Citizen, Scholar, Steward
Technology is part of daily life for students at Kentucky Country Day School. Our focus is on creating meaningful intersections between technology and the curriculum; we believe that curriculum should drive technology instead of the other way around.

We also believe that it’s important to match the right technology with the right age. This means using iPads in the Lower School, Chromebooks and Google Apps in our one-to-one Middle School program, and a one-to-one laptop program in the Upper School that supports both PCs and Macs.

STEAM and Maker Education

KCD was the first school in Louisville to implement a schoolwide STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, Math) curriculum and to support it with our own makerspace. The KCD Design & Fabrication Lab is home to our robotics program and is equipped with 3D printers, laser and vinyl cutters, and a wide range of shop and machine tools.

A Regional Leader in Technology

Since 2012, KCD has modeled best practices in technology integration by organizing and hosting the Tech Teach Learn Conference — the region’s premier conference on technology in education. The last TTL conference drew 320 educators from 8 states.
