Trimester 1 grade
reports have been posted on My Backpack. We will mail home a hard copy
of the report card next week. Soon we will send these home on a
request-only basis because all the data we send home is available
online.
We will follow a Monday and Friday
schedule next week on Monday and Tuesday. No school on Wednesday–Friday.
Happy Thanksgiving!
The Middle School Play Radium Girls is showing
tonight and tomorrow
night at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
1500 cans? That is
our goal to raise in the Middle School before Thanksgiving in
order to help Dare to Care in these tough times.
If every students brings in 5–6 cans, we can do it. Thanks
so much.
Our ERB testing dates are December
8–12
this year. Makeup testing dates will be during the following week
only.
If your child
needs accommodations for this standardized test, please communicate
with either Lisa Pepper (lisa.pepper@kcd.org) or Jerry Loewen
(jerry.loewen@kcd.org).
Carpool Reminder: If you come after 3:20
p.m., there is very little wait time in the carpool lanes. As
you might have noticed, there
is a big crunch right around dismissal time that is pushing traffic
all the way back to Springdale Road. Thanks for your help.
The Duke Talent Identification Program
(TIP), Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY), and others
are gearing up for another
season. If your child has scored at the 95th
national norm percentile or higher on any portion of
the ERB test
we took last year, he
or she is eligible for this type of program. Visit
the following Web site for a handy overview of many
fine
academic summer
programs:

The
next Parent/Director Meeting is Thursday December 4, at 8:10
a.m. in the Head’s Conference Room.
Reminder: Students should
not be arriving to school prior to 7:30 a.m. If you must drop
off your child prior to 7:30, please let
Mr. Loewen know.
Our second round of Independent
Reading Book Clubs has begun.
Signing in and signing out. Please be sure
to sign students in and out of the Middle School office if they
are leaving
early
or arriving late.
All visitors must now enter the
building through the middle school office door. Our security system has
other entrances locked. A
buzzer is now installed beside the main door in case it too is
locked.
