head_of_schoolNow is the time to build upon our excellence

Kentucky Country Day School has never been more thriving or vibrant in its storied history, and the value of a KCD education has never been greater. Enrollment is at an all-time high, annual giving has reached record levels and inquiries for admission remain strong. Our students continue to matriculate to many of the most selective colleges and universities in the nation, while the school’s curriculum has been recognized for excellence and innovation by the National Association of Independent Schools.

The school’s financial health has never been stronger. We continue to adhere to a stringent policy of balanced budgets, while the growth in enrollment has enabled us to invest $3.5 million from internally generated funds in strategic initiatives to support academic excellence, expansion of our athletic programs, and the timely renovation of our facilities and technology --- we now have over 500 computers on our wireless campus. We have been truly fortunate and as a result, KCD’s exceptional reputation for academic excellence continues to grow.

With success comes responsibility. The student body has increased by 174 students, or 24%, over the past ten years, resulting in the need for expansion. Specifically, we need an assembly hall/theater to accommodate division-wide gatherings and to relocate debate and drama productions from the cafeteria; additional classrooms to handle the expanded enrollment while maintaining our small class sizes; a renovated and expanded dining hall to normalize lunch schedules; improved roadways and parking to handle the increased traffic flow; and an expanded endowment to secure our long-term future. Very simply, the time has arrived to match our facilities to our growth and educational vision.

The campaign goal that we have set for ourselves is challenging. However, with your wholehearted and generous participation, we will successfully complete this ambitious and necessary work, allowing us to continue to build upon our excellence for current and future generations of students at Kentucky Country Day.
