Middle School presents Charlotte's Web
Congratulations to the Middle school on a fantastic production of Joseph Robinette’s adaptation of E.B. White’s award-winning novel Charlotte’s Web. The play opened on Friday, April 25, and continued through April 27.

With an outstanding cast of twenty-five middle-school students, the world of the play surrounded Wilbur (Connor Lohman), the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern (Emily Scinta), a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton (Frank James), the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family (Caitlin Hanley and Tucker Keel); the Arable family (Nick Conroy, Emily Lyman, and Samantha Kamen); and most of all, the extraordinary spider Charlotte (Cat Gallagher), who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.”

Charlotte’s Web was directed by Trudy Wheeler with assistant direction by Julie Riggs Johnson, technical direction by Rudy Keel, and costuming by Sawsan Sheth.

Oklahoma!
The Upper School presened a rousing production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! onFebruary 29–March 2 at the Clifton Center.

First produced in 1943, Oklahoma! is perhaps the most produced musical in history. Based on a stage play by Lynn Riggs, the simple but serious plot shows pioneering men and women of the American Southwest settling in the territory of Oklahoma at the beginning of the twentieth century. With themes of romance, unrequited love, and tolerance, Oklahoma! is best known for its memorable ballads and rousing dance numbers.

Congratulations to cast and crew on a great production!

Several third and fourth grade students performed Cinderella for family and friends after working with Trudy Wheeler and Karen Welsh this semester. The audience participated in a seek and find for various household objects that were used as costumes and props—hats were lampshades, and the trumpets were plungers. Audience members also enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the play.

The Upper School’s production of A Christmas Carol featured its chorale and select choir as well as twenty high school actors.
