The Robertson Library is open on school days between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The library catalog is online and available at all times via the library section of our Web site.

Circulation Policies

Books and Periodicals

To check out a book, take it to one of the circulation desks or to the library office. A librarian or aide will check out the book or magazine and put a due date card in it. Books and magazines may be checked out for two weeks and may be renewed. You don’t need to have the book or magazine with you in order to renew it. You may not check out the current issue of a magazine.

Returning Materials

Returned materials should be placed in the bin at either of the circulation desks. Overdue notices are automatically e-mailed each Monday morning to upper school students and to the parents of middle and lower school students. Students in seventh grade and above are subject to an overdue fine of ten cents per school day until materials are returned or renewed. It is the student’s responsibility to check the notices to see whether or not their books are overdue. No individual reminders will be sent out. Fines will continue to accrue at the rate of 10 cents per day until materials are renewed or returned. The maximum fine is $3.00.

The charge for lost books will be as follows:

  • Books that are still in print: Replacement cost plus $3 processing fee
  • Out of print but available: Replacement cost plus $3 processing fee
  • Out of print and unavailable: $15

Reserve Books

Reserves are kept in the library office. These materials may be taken out for use in the library only. They may, however, be taken out overnight with the instructor’s permission.

Reference Materials

Reference books may not be taken from the library except with the express permission of the librarian.

Library Conduct

In order to maintain our books and the facility, there will be no food, beverages, or gum chewing allowed in the library. Loud talking, use of personal radios or electronic games are not allowed. Violators will be asked to leave the library for a length of time to be determined by the librarian. A low tone of conversation must be maintained.

Computer Use

All students are expected to abide by the technology acceptable use policy, which clearly states online guidelines. Computers in the Library are to be used for research and word processing purposes only.
