Jobs at KCD
What We're Looking For
Great teachers have at least two driving passions. One is their fascination with a particular field of study; the other is their love for teaching children. Kentucky Country Day School seeks to employ teachers who embody both of these characteristics, and to that end, national searches are conducted for all full-time positions.

The Rewards of Teaching at an Independent School
In addition to the rewards intrinsic to teaching, working at an independent school like KCD offers a number of special benefits. Surveys of independent school teachers have shown very high levels of job satisfaction. In part, this is the result of working with small classes of bright, motivated students. However, other factors play a role in job satisfaction. Teachers new to the school find themselves part of a diverse, talented, and supportive faculty, and as a result there exists an exciting professional atmosphere and a strong sense of community. Furthermore, faculty—both individually and collectively—have an important voice and play major roles in the decision-making process at KCD. If you would like to learn more about teaching in an independent school, some helpful links are listed below. Particularly good is the article “Why Teach in Independent Schools,” which can be found on the NAIS web site. KCD firmly supports the principle that the admission of students, the employment of staff, the operations of the program, and the governance of the school be open to all who are qualified, regardless of race, gender, creed, color, or national origin.
