From the A.D.'s Desk

Dear Bearcat Fan,

There are many different ways to judge the strength and reputation of an athletic program. At a recent state championship level event, I was speaking with the Athletic Directors of two very prominent, very successful programs here in Kentucky. I was taken by surprise when one of the Directors said “KCD must be the best athletic program in town”. Now, you must know that I feel that we are the best around, but I was not anticipating such a comment from this person. When I asked why, she responded that every time she encounters a team from KCD, they are well coached, well organized, play hard, and demonstrate great sportsmanship. Before I could respond, the AD from the other school said “yes, and also look at the great fan support that you always have at games”. When I turned around, I not only saw parents and family members for the players on the team playing that day, but I saw many players, coaches, and even parents from other KCD teams cheering for our team. Before the conversation was over, I was on top of the world!

KCD is such a special place, and our athletic program, including players, coaches and fans, has much to be proud of. Do not get me wrong – we certainly have things to work on every day. However, our support of one another gives us a real advantage. Make sure that you keep that “family” approach to our program and find time to support all of our teams.
