KCD Reconnect

Welcome to KCD Reconnect! This program is an extension of KCD’s student intership program, which was developed under the leadership of former board member Dr. Shanker Chandiramani. The goal of KCD Reconnect is to provide a connection between KCD alumni and the Louisville business community and beyond. The KCD Reconnect program was established to assist KCD alumni in two ways:

1. Helping college students find summer internships.
2. Helping college graduates find permanent job opportunities in Louisville.

This Web page lists current internship and employment opportunities available to KCD graduates. One of the great resources KCD offers our alumni is our varied and successful parent and alumni community. Most of these internship opportunities are with companies owned by KCD parents or in which a parent has significant involvement. If you have a specific interest in an area not included on our list, you may contact Jamey Elliott. We do plan to add to the list of positions as they become available over the next few months. 2009 College Summer Internships

Jamey Elliott will administer the application process for college summer interships. All resumes should be e-mailed to Mr. Elliott with an indication of your internship preference or area of interest. He will contact you when resumes are forwarded to the appropriate internship sponsors. Applicants will be expected to make the follow-up contact and arrangements. For some internships you must apply directly to the company and may include the reference listed in your application. These internships are noted below.

YUM! Brands
Positions: 1 available
Duration: 6–10 weeks, longer term for upperclassmen
Location: Louisville
Salary: $10–15 per hour
Areas: Various departments including marketing, IT, human resources

Stifel Nicolaus
Positions: 1 available
Duration: 8–10 weeks
Location: Louisville
Salary: $10 per hour
Requirements: For students interested in becoming stock brokers and /or financial advisors, not financial analysts; must be familiar with excel and comfortable making introductory phone calls

Gannon Vietnam Limited
Positions: 1 available
Duration: 4 weeks
Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Salary: to be determined
Requirements: Applicants must be mature, independent thinkers, creative problem solvers and be able to work independently of direct ongoing supervision. Gannon regularly hosts MBA candidates and will require an interview. In the past, interns have written business plans and provided due diligence/research for a number of businesses including Soya beverages, cold storage, power generation, uniform rental and Budget Rental Car.

Lunacy Productions
Positions: 1 available
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Duration: 4–6 weeks
Salary: To be determined (Intern is responsible for own housing and vehicle).
Requirements: For students interested in learning various aspects of independent filmmaking, including development, screenwriting, fund-raising, packaging, production, and editing. Actual production experience is possible but not guaranteed as schedules are subject to change. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro (not required but recommended). Serious applicants only. Phone or in-person interview required.

PFF Entertainment, LLC
Positions: Up to 5
Duration: Summer / Fall / Spring
Areas: Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, Graphic Arts, Web Design & Optimization
Location: New York City (Manhattan)
Salary: Negotiable, but generrally our internships are unpaid. (However, we write great letters of recommendation and our interns have gone on to full-time positions at MTV, Harrison & Shriftman, etc.)
Requirements: Enthusiasm, leadership, and confidence. We are a small company and you will be given plenty of responsibility. All resumes should be received by June 1 for Summer '09 and August 15 for Fall '09
