Middle and Upper School Dress Code

Acceptable
- Neat pants or jeans (with no stretchy material) that are not form fitting
- Neat skirts, shorts or dresses that extend to at least mid-thigh and fall within six (6) inches of the floor when kneelingShirts/Blouses
Acceptable
- Neat shirts and blouses that cover the midriff and are modest at the neckline
- Appropriate pocket logos and KCD logos are acceptable
- For girls only, sleeveless tops that cover at least 2½ inches of the shoulderS
Shoes
Acceptable
- Well-kept casual shoes, dress shoes, or sandals (not shower shoes) that have shorter than two inch-heels
Hair
Acceptable
- Hair that is neat and clean with a style and natural color that are neither offensive or distracting
- Facial hair that is well-maintained and is grown out during Summer vacation
Miscellaneous
Unacceptable
- Facial jewelry (other than earrings), including piercing plugs
- Visible tattoos
- Hats
- Bandannas or scarves worn as headdress
- Sunglasses
- Athletic headbands
- MP3 and CD players and other music-playing devices unless wearing headphones and in an acceptable study space
- Cell phones and beepers during the school day. (Such devices may be stored in lockers or in vehicles only.) Text messaging is prohibited during the school day. Taking of phone photos is prohibited on campus at any time. Taking of laptop photos and videos except for class assignments.
