Seniors win soccer All District honors

Congratulations to seniors Michael Worthington and Kate Zoppoth, who were named to the All-District Tournament Team for their performances against CAL. Michael had three goals and six assists on the season. Kate also set a school record for goals in a season with nine. Congratulations, Michael and Kate!

The complete district bracket and tournament information is attached. Please note the following:

You will have to pay to enter Monday's game as well as the ones at Ballard. See attached sheet for pricing.

Here is the schedule:

Monday - We play Jeffersontown here at KCD 5:30pm
Tuesday (if we win Mon.) - We play Christian Academy at 5:30pm at Ballard
Thursday ( if we win Tues) We would play in the final at 7pm at Ballard
Final game would be against the winner of the Tuesday game between Ballard and Eastern

Tournament win highlights great season for boys' soccer

The boys' soccer team is off to a great 8-5-1 start this season, which is the third-best record in the Eighth Region. The team has played solidly all season, outscoring their opponents by 23 goals. The highlight of this season has been the team's first-place finish at the Nelson County Invitational Tournament, where the Bearcats defeated Meade County and Nelson County and tied Marion County to claim first place honors in the tournament's inaugural year. This was an impressive accomplishment given that the team played a grueling five games over the course of the week. Juniors David Holtgrave and Banele Gumede were named to the All Tournament Team.

KCD Boys' Soccer

This year's offensive leaders have been Walker Goodbub and Banele Gumede, scoring eighteen and fifteen goals respectively. This scoring tandem has been assisted often by Holtgrave, who leads the team with fourteen assists.
