There
is no better time to be a Bearcat than springtime! We will have
21 teams competing with almost 400 student athletes on any given
day, and I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon
than watching these teams represent our school. With the beauty
of spring comes the prospect of inclement weather. We will make
decisions on a daily basis that can have a huge impact on our
athletes. We try to make the decisions in a prudent manner and
get needed information out effectively and efficiently. The best
place to find up to the minute information is our website. We
will post game changes on our athletics website. We will also
make announcements for game changes on our Sports Hotline (814-4345).
The best resource for practice changes is your child’s
coach. We will post information as soon as it becomes available,
but there will be times when decisions are made very late in
the day.
During May, we have two very important athletic dates to keep
in mind. First, our Fall Sports Parent/Coach meeting has been
scheduled for May 8th at 6PM. This is a great time to learn about
the sport that your Bearcat will be playing in the fall. The
second date to remember is May 15 when our Athletic Booster Club
offers spring physicals for our students. Immediately after school,
athletes may come to the gymnasium and get a sport physical for
$20. The physical meets school requirements for athletic participation,
and all proceeds go to the Booster Club. Please take advantage
of this wonderful program.
I hope to see you at a Bearcat contest soon!
Go Bearcats!
