Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten Kentucky Country Day School admits motivated, average to superior students. The admissions process identifies students who demonstrate the motivation and ability to fulfill Kentucky Country Day School’s academic and social requirements. All applicants will be evaluated on the following information by Kentucky Country Day School’s Admissions Committee:
Kentucky Country Day School suggests that students applying to junior kindergarten or kindergarten turn four or five, respectively, prior to June 1 of their year of admittance. Applications of children with birthdays between June 1 and August 31 of the respective years will be accepted. However, younger applicants must show an advanced developmental, social, and academic readiness profile in order to be accepted into the higher level. When grade levels approach optimum numbers, preference is given to applicants who are faculty children, active alumni children, and siblings. Kentucky Country Day School’s acceptance of any student is contingent upon the successful completion of the applicant’s current grade. Students are admitted on a yearly basis, and, at the midway point of the second trimester, all students who are in good standing both academically and socially will be invited to reenroll for the following school year. Local, mid-year transfers are discouraged after February.
