Twenty Advanced Placement courses are taught in English, calculus, chemistry,
physics, psychology, biology, French, U.S. government and politics, Latin,
Spanish, U.S. history, European history, computer science, statistics,

National Merit Semifinalists
Over the last five years (2003–2007), an average of 10.45 percent
of KCD's graduating class has qualified as National Merit Semifinalists,
meaning that their SAT scores place them in the top 1.5 percent of Kentucky
students.

Fine arts
KCD offers a fine
arts program
for all students in junior kindergarten through twelfth grade, including
classes in visual art, drama and play production, and choral and
instrumental
music.
Athletics
KCD has seventeen middle school athletic teams,
eleven junior varsity teams, and twenty-two varsity teams. Over seventy-five
percent of students in
grades
five through twelve participate in at least one sport.
